Project Overview

FME completed a substantial reinforced concrete repair at a busy transport depot in Preston, restoring a heavily trafficked yard area used by articulated lorries and forklifts.

The Challenge

The failed slab created disruption and safety concerns in a live depot. A temporary patch would not withstand repeated axle loads, so the area required a correctly engineered, long-term reinstatement.

Our Solution

We broke out and removed the defective concrete, formed clean edges and shuttering, installed dowel bars for load transfer and laid two layers of reinforcement mesh before placing high-strength concrete with a brush finish.

  • Careful planning and preparation
  • Safe management of the working area
  • Quality-controlled delivery
  • Minimal disruption to site operations

Quality, Safety and Coordination

Every stage was managed by FME with clear communication, appropriate controls and a focus on durable, compliant workmanship.

The Result

The repaired area was handed back with a strong, durable surface designed for demanding depot operations. Careful phasing kept disruption to a minimum while delivering a repair built to last.
